To honour the outstanding life of Kenneth James McAllister by providing financial assistance to youth interested in pursuing education or training in Information Technology, photography, or other creative arts. This scholarship aims to support those who embody Ken’s passion for community and creativity.

Eligibility Criteria
Open to young people aged 16-30.

Must demonstrate interest or experience in one of the following fields:

• Bookkeeping

• Creative Arts (e.g., Graphic Design, Videography, )

• Geographic Information Systems

• Information Technology (IT)

• Photography

• Web Design

Personal Statement:
We invite you to apply for the Kenneth James McAllister Memorial Scholarship for Information Technology, Photography, and Creative Arts, which aims to support individuals who not only excel in their area of interest but are also committed to making a positive impact on their communities.

We request a 500-word summary outlining your passion for any of the applicable fields (e.g. creative arts, photography) and how this scholarship will help you achieve your goals. Please feel free to include photos or other creative arts that show case your talent and/or vision.

As part of the application, we ask that you demonstrate your involvement in community activities, leadership roles, or how you have used your skills to contribute to the betterment of your community. We believe that actions such as mentoring, volunteering, leading initiatives, or advocating for positive change highlight the qualities we are looking for in scholarship recipients. Selection Criteria
Merit and Passion
Strong demonstration of interest and talent in IT, photography, or other creative arts as well as a clear plan for how the scholarship will help achieve the applicant’s goals.

Community Involvement
Preference will be given to applicants who show leadership, volunteer work, or a desire to contribute to their communities.

Financial Need
Consideration of the financial circumstances of the applicant to ensure the scholarship reaches those with limited resources.

Award Amount
$5,000, which can be used for tuition, equipment, materials, or other related educational expenses.
